Staff recommends Council adopt Resolution No, ~3P~ , rejecting all bids for
the Mobile Intensive Care Unit and authorizing the urchasing Officer to invite
bids for the Mobile Intensive Care Unit with revised specifications.
ITEM.EX~LANATION
The 1985-86 Budget includes $70,000 for Mobile Intensive Care Unit for the Fire
Department. This $70,000 included $55,000 for unit and $15,000 for additional
equipment, Only two bids were received for this equipment \\hich were
substantially more e?{pehsive than expected. As a result, the Fire Department
would like to revise the bid specifications and rebid this unit.
In accordance with Section 3 .28 .120 of the Carlsbad Municipal Code, Notice to
Bidders was published and Request for Bids was made, Five responses were
received, opened, witnessed and recorded on ~anuary 8, 1986. Following the bid
opening it was noted that all bids were over the budgeted amount. It is
recommended, all bids be rejectad and rev!sed specifications be included in the
new bid request.
FISCAL IMPACT
The cost of unit with revi~ed specifications will )e within the budgeted
amount .
