ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR TAMARACK
(PROJECT NO. 3144)
AVENUE - ADAMS TO HIGHLAND
-
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
By motion, adopt Resolution No. fX// approving plans and
specifications, authorizing the City Clerk to advertise for
bids for the construction of Tamarack Avenue, between Adams and
Highland.
ITEM EXPLANATION:
The Plans and Specifications for Project No.3144 have been
completed. This project involves the construction of curbs,
gutters, sidewalks, A.C. paving and street lights. The
Engineering Department has reviewed and approved the plans and
specifications, as prepared by Mohle/Grover and Associates.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Funds in the ammmt of $347,681 were appropriated for this
project in the 84-85 Capital Improvement Program. In 1984
$227,000 of the funds were used to construct a portion of
Tamarack Avenue from Sunnyhill to Skyline. The Engineer's
estimate for this project is $175,000. Remaining funds in the
amount of $120,382.31 are available for this project. Upon
opening of bids and prior to Award of Contract additional
appropriation of funds will be required.

RESOLUTION NO. 8511
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD
CALIFORNIA, APPROVING PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS:
AUTHORIZING THE CITY CLERK TO INVITE BIDS FOR TAMARACK
AVENUE IMPROVEMENTS FROM ADAMS TO HIGHLAND - PROJECT NO.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Carlsbad has
determined it is necessary and in the public interest to
construct improvements on Tamarack Avenue; and
WHEREAS, plans and specifications for the furnishing
of all labor, material, tools, equipment, transportation,
and other expenses necessary or incidental for said
project, Project No. 3144, have been prepared and are on
file in the Engineering Department of the City of Carlsbad
and are incorporated by reference herein;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Carlsbad, California, as follows:
1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
2. The plans and specifications as presented are
hereby approved.
3. The City Clerk of the City of Carlsbad is hereby
authorized and directed to proceed to publish, in
accordance with law, Notice to Contractors inviting bids
for the improvements of Tamarack Avenue in accordance with
the plans and specifications hereinabove referred to.

PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of
the Carlsbad City Council held on the 22nd day of
April , 1986 by the following vote, to wit:
