Staff recunmerds Council adopt Resolution No. rcJz accepting a bid and
awarding a contract to California Pavement Maintenance Co., Inc., 9193
Chesapeake Drive, San Diego, CA 92123 in the amount of $131,940.11.

On April 1, 1986, the City Council apprwed specifications and authorized the
City Clerk to advertise for bids for the 1985-86 Slurry Seal Progran.
The Notice to Bidders was published and seven contractors picked up the bidding
documents.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
The Slurry Seal Program was bid separately from the Overlay Program and, as
a result, the slurry seal will cost about 30% less this year due to lower
petroleum base products costs a'nd the direct bid by the slurry contractors.
This year the slurry will cost 4.2$ per square foot. The program covers
about 34 lane miles of streets or about 82 blocks in all parts of the city.
It is expected that the program will be accomplished during June.

BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlshad, as follows:
1. That the bid of California Pavement Maintenance Co., Inc., 9193
Chesapeake Drive, San Diego, CA 92123, is hereby accepted and the Mayor is
hereby authorized to execute a contract for the 1985-86 Slurry Seal Progran in
the amount of $131,940.11.
