$58,500. The recommended low bid to be awarded is to Landscape
Irrigation Specialists of El Cajon, California who were the
original low bidders. Budgeted estimate for Bid Package No. 9
was $325,000.
FISCAL IMPACT
The estimated cost of landscaping was $325,000. The appropria-
tion of $315,000 from the unencumbered Public Facility fund
balance to Account No. 300-820-1810-3006 will be necessary to
provide funding for the landscaping.
Upon approval of this appropriation, unencumbered funds in the
amount of $315,000 will be available in Account No. 300-820-1810-
3006 for this purchase. The Finance Director has determined that
sufficient funds exist in the unreserved fund balance to support
this appropriation. This fund transfer is in lieu of the 1986-87
Safety Center appropriation for Phase I of its construction.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING
THE BID AND AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF
A CONTRACT FOR THE LANDSCAPING OF THE
CARLSBAD SAFETY AND SERVICE CENTER.
WHEREAS, bids have been received by the City of Carlsbad
for the landscaping at the Carlsbad Safety and Service Center;
and
WHEREAS, the bid to be awarded is a total of $315,000;
and
WHEREAS, the appropriation of funds in the amount of
$315,000 from the unreserved fund balance to Account No. 300-
820-1810-3006 is necessary to provide the funding for this
project; and
WHEREAS, upon such appropriation unencumbered funds in the
amount of $315,000 are available in Account No. 300-820-1810-
3006 for the proposal herein stated.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Carlsbad, California, as follows:
1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
2. That the bid by Landscape Irrigation Specialists as
shown in Exhibit A, attached hereto and incorporated herein,
and reduced by the City Staff is hereby accepted and the
Purchasing Officer is hereby authorized to execute a Purchase
Order for the landscaping and irrigation services at the
Carlsbad Safety and Service Center in the amount of $315,000.

The Undersigned declares he/she has carefully examined the location of the work,
read the Notice Inviting Bids, examined the Plans and Specifications, and hereby
proposes to furnish all labor, materials, equipment, transportation, and
services required to do all the work to complete Contract No. 3006-9 in
accordance with the Plans and Specifications of the City of Carlsbad, and the
Special Provisions and Conditions and that he/she will take in full payment

the bidder. In case of a discrepancy between words and figures, the words shall
prevail.
The Undersigned has checked carefully all of the above figures and understands
that the City will not be responsible for any errors or omissions on the part of
the Undersigned in making up this bid.
The Undersigned agrees that in case of default in in executing the required
Contract with necessary bonds and insurance policies within twenty (20) days
from the date of award of Contract by City Council of the City of Carlsbad, the
proceeds of check or bond ac con paying this bid shall become the property of the
City of Carlsbad.
