CM CITY RECOMMENDED ACTION: Adopt Resolution No. r5yhcreating a permanent Beach Erosi Committee and outlining its function and rules. ITEM EXPLANATION The City Council, at the meeting of May 20, 1986 voted motion to create the Beach Erosion Committee. The resoluti attached fulfills City Council Policy No. 19 which requir creation of standing committees by use of a resolution. FISCAL IMPACT Staff support as required by the Committee. EXHIBIT 1. Resolution No. cfss6 creating a permanent Be Erosion Committee and outlining its function and rules. 8 4. . *. 1 2 3 4 5l @ a RESOLUTION NO. 8596 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, CREATING AND ESTABLISHING THE BEACH EROSION COMMITTEE. WHEREAS, the City Council has deemed the existenc I 7 8 WHEREAS, said committee shall serve in an ad capacity to the City Council, and more particularly its 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 ' representative; and WHEREAS, the City Council has by motion decreed tha committee shall remain in existence to render research ities, informational reports, and support to the City or erosion topics. I NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council City of Carlsbad, California, as follows: j 1. That the above recitations are true and correct. 2. That the Beach Erosion Committee shall serve 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 I 1 advisory committee to the City Manager and City Council. j 3. That the Beach Erosion Committee shall investigE report on topics or studies related to beach eros directed by the City Manager and City Council. I 4. Committee shall be comprised of a maximum of se3 members from the citizens of Carlsbad with a minimum o (3) active members plus two (2) City staff member appointed from the Engineering and Planning Depar Maximum term for any member shall be four (4) years. Any member who misses three (3) meetings wi replaced by a designated replacement to be selected by th Council. 6. Resolution No. 8596 says: 1. Committee comprised of maximum of 7 members from citi with minimum of a. 3 active members plus b. 2 City staff members to be appointed from Engine and Planning 2. Maximum term for any member shall be 4 years Members appointed by Resolution No. 8596 were: Mario Monroy Sally Vigil John Gray David Castel Gary Nessim Pearl Johnson Any member who misses 3 meetings will be replaced by designated replacemen to be selected by City Council.
