ITEM EXPLANATION
Contract No. 3006-1 F represents the base and blacktop expense for the
Safety Center. Due to increases in the number of vehicles to be parked at
the Vehicle Maintenance yard, we were obliged to expand the parking lot by
91' to the east and 220' to the south (a total of 19,650 sq. ft.). The
total cost of this additional paving is $17,665.26. The additional area
will be used by City vehicles and would have been paved in Phase II of the
project.
The above changes have been reviewed and approved by the architect,
construction manager and City staff. We will issue the change order upon
approval of the City Council.

FISCAL IMPACT
The funds required in this change order are included in the current budget
for Phase I as part of the contingency for contractor change orders in
Account No. 300-820-1810-3006.

The Contractor is directed to make the following changes. Changes shall include labor,
material, and equipment; payment stated on this Change Order includes all charges, direct
or indirect, arising out of this additional work. The requirements of the specifications,
where pertinent and in conflict with this order, shall apply to these changes.
ACTION:
1. Additional cost to increase City Vehicle Parking area as
requested by the City and prepared by Rick Engineering on
Sheet #3 of onsite improvement plans dated 5/8/86. Cost
also includes adjustments for changes with AC berm and swale,
completion of fine grading and a structural section of 3"AC
over 7" D.G. base. Total Add:$17,665.26

RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING AN AMENDMENT TO
CONTRACT NO. 3006-1F PAVING FOR THE CARLSBAD
SAFETY AND SERVICE CENTER.
WHEREAS, an additional expenditure of $17,665.26 is necessary for the
accommodation of a change to the Carlsbad Safety and Service Center; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has previously approved the contract for paving
which did not include the added area and cost; and
WHEREAS, the architect, construction manager and City staff have
concluded that the additional expense is necessary; and
WHEREAS, funds are available in the current budget in Account No. 300-
820-1810-3006.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Carlsbad, California, as follows:
1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
2. That Change Order No. 5 in the amount of $17,665.26 for Sim 3.
Harris Co. is hereby approved.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Carlsbad City
Council held on the 1st day of July , 1986 by the following vote, to
wit:
