CM COUNCIL APPOINTED OFFICIALS CITY i1AGR.—,,�!'` RECOMMENDED ACTION: Your action is to adopt Resolution No. f4,3 r , with changes if any as the Council determines appropriate. ITEM EXPLANATION: It is necessary for t-Le City Council to adopt a compensation plan for council appointed officials. This Resolution provides a four percent increase for the City Manager and City Attorney effective July 1, 1986. This action passes through the same four percent pay raise provided to miscellaneous employees and miscellaneous management. Council Policy No. 36 provides that general across the board salary increase granted to police and fire and miscellaneous city bargaining units shall be passed through to management employees. Council has previously acted to pass through salary increases to management employees as follows: Miscellaneous 4% 7/1/86 Police 3% 3/24/86 Fire 57o 7/1/86 The other provisions of the Resolution are the same as last year. i - . _ _ .1— ., 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 171 1g. 191 20 21 22 231 241 25 26 27� 281 RESOLUTION NO. 8638 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, ADOPTING A COMPENSATION PLAN FOR COUNCIL APPOINTED OFFICIALS VOR THE 1986-87 FISCAL YEAR. WHEREAS, the City Council has determined to make adjustments in compensation for Council appointed officials; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad as follows: 1. That the above recitations are true and correct. 2. That the Salary Schedule for City Council appointed officials for the 1986-87 fiscal year shall be as follows: City Attorney $2,614 Bi-weekly City Manager $2,694 Bi-weekly 3. City Council appointed officials shall receive the benefits of the Management Compensation Man for 1986-87 fiscal year, effective July 1, 1986, except: A. Section H shall not apply. Separation of the City Manager and City Attorney is controlled by Municipal Code Chapters 2.12 and 2.14 respectively. B. The City Attorney shall be authorized to receive the amount of $215.45 per month in lieu of coverage under the City's health and medical insurance plan provided by Section J until such program is revised at which time he shall receive the an _it of the subsidy for employee plus two dependents. 4. The City Manager shall receive a car allowance of $250 per month. The City Attorney shall receive a car allowance of $225 per month. W l 5. The City Attorney shall receive a salary of $100 per 2 month for work as general counsel for the Housing and 3 Redevelopment Commission. 4� 6.
