Accept the construction of traffic signals at Carlsbad Boulevard and Grand and El Camino Real and Chestnut, Contract Nos. 3179 and
3180, as complete. Direct the City Clerk to have the Notice of

ITEM EXPLANATION:
Construction of the above referenced traffic signals has been satisfactorily completed. The final contract amount of
$115,043.83 includes three (3) Change Orders for a total of
$7,106.83 (handled administratively in accordance with
Administrative Order No. 7) for additional work related to the project.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Total project cost is $128,643.83 as referenced below. A total of $114,000 from all sources is available for this project consisting of:
General Capital Construction Gas Tax CALTRANS H.E.S. Grant

A funds transfer in the amount of $14,644.00 is requested from the unappropriated balance of the General Capital Construction
Fund, account No. 300-941 to the project account to close this project. Ten percent (10%) retention will be withheld until 35 days after the Notice of Completion. A summary of the project
funding is as follows:

Construction 115,043.83
Project Management and Inspection 10,000.00 (est.)
Subtotal $128,643.83 Less CALTRANS Reimbursement (H.E.S. Grant) 45,000.00

ENGINEERING
To All Laborers and Material Men and to Every Other Person
Interested:
YOU WILL PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that on May 30, 1986, the Engineering
project consisting of constructing two traffic signals at
Carlsbad Boulevard and Grand Avenue and El Camino Real and
Chestnut Avenue, on which Steiny & Company, Inc. was the
Contractor, and Safeco Insurance Company was the surety, was
completed.

I, the undersigned, say:
I am the City Clerk of the City of Carlsbad; the City
Council of said City on j-y~t/ JC , 1986, accepted the
above described work as completed and ordered that a Notice of

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING THE
TRANSFER OF FUNDS FOR PROJECT NOS. 3179 AND
3180 FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF TRAFFIC SIGNALS AT CARLSBAD BOULEVARD/GRAND AVENUE AND EL CAMINO REAL/CHESTNUT AVENUE
WHEREAS, the construction of the above referenced
traffic signal systems are considered complete; and
WHEREAS, a total of $114,000 was originally budgeted for
these projects in the General Capital Construction Fund; and
WHEREAS, the final contract amount of $115,043.83 has
been paid to the contractor less ten percent retention; and
WHEREAS, additional funds in the amount of $14,644.00
are required for additional work and staff time associated with
the project;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Carlsbad,
California, as follows:
1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
2. That the transfer of $14,644.00 from the
unappropriated balance in the General Capital Construction Fund
account No. 300-941 to the project account Nos. 300-820-1810-
3179 and 3180 is hereby authorized and approved.
