RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Adopt Resolution'No. pG77 authorizing the Purchasing Officer to
use informal bidding procedures for miscellaneous painting of
City facilities.
ITEM EXPLANATION
On May 6th, Council approved Resolution No. 8573, authorizing the bidding for the painting of certain City facilities; the formal
process resulted in no bids received May 28th.
The Public Contract Code Section 20166 provides for Council to
au,thorize the work to be done without further bidding if no bids
are received.
FISCAL IMPACT
Budgeted funds are available in Building Maintenance account "Miscellaneous Outside Services", Account Number 001-820-5320-2490, in the amount of $6,000. The cost estimate is $5,000.

RESOLUTION NO. 8677
A RESOLUTION TO THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING INFORMAL BIDDING PROCEDURES FOR PAINTING MISCELLANEOUS CITY
FACILITIES - PROJECT NO. 3900-3
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Carlsbad,
California, has determined it is necessary and in the public
interest to paint the Fire Station QZ interior and certain ar
in the Library and Swim Complex: and
WHEREAS, plans and specifications for the furnishing of
labor, material, tools, equipment, transportation, and other
expenses necessary or incidental for said Project No. 3900-3
have been prepared and are on file in the Purchasing Departme
of the City of Carlsbad and incorporated by reference herein.
WHEREAS, no bids were received as a result of the formal
bidding procedure.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of th
City of Carlsbad, as follows:
1. The above recitations are true and correct.

2. The Purchasing Officer of the City of Carlsbad is
hereby authorized and directed to proceed with the informal bi
ding procedure inviting bids for the painting of the miscellar
City facilities in accordance with the plans and specificatior
hereinabove referred to.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the
City of Carlsbad at a regular meeting held on the 15th day c
July , 1986, by the following vote, to wit:
