RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Adopt Resolution No. $jI*y accepting the bid and awarding
Contract No. 3006-4A Concrete for the Carlsbad Safety and Service
Center.
ITEM EXPLANATION;
On June 18, 1985, the City Council authorized the re-bid of the
concrete contract for the aforementioned project. As of July 11,
1985, sealed bids were received as summarized in the letter from
the. Koll Company attached. References have been verified on the
recommended bidder. Bid recommended on 3006-4A Concrete is Riley
J. Presser Concrete Co., $296,631.00 with the Construction
Manager estimate at $279,500.00.
FISCAL IMPACT;
Funds are available in Account No. 114-820-1810-3006.
EXHIBITS;

RESOLUTION NO. 8114
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING THE BID
AND AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF CONTRACT
3006-4A CONCRETE FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE
CARLSBAD SAFETY AND SERVICE CENTER.

WHEREAS, bids have been received by the City of Carlsbad for the

construction of the Carlsbad Safety and Service Center on Contract No. 3006-4A

Concrete; and
WHEREAS, the bid received is for a total of $296,631.00; and,

WHEREAS, the Construction Manager has recommended the acceptance of the
bid; and

WHEREAS, the funds are available in Account No. 114-820-1810-3006;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Carlsbad, California, as follows:
1. That the above recitations are true and correct.14
2. That the bid as recommended by the Koll Company in the amount of

$296,631.00 for the concrete building pad and beams at the Carlsbad Safety

and Service Center per Bid Package No. 4 Section 3006-4A is hereby accepted
and the Mayor and City Clerk are authorized to execute a contract thereafter.

PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Carlsbad City
Council held on the 16th day of July , 1985 by the following vote, to
