ITEM EXPLANATION On August 2, 1983, Council. approved a three year gross lease for 5,763 sq, of storage spwe at Palmar Airport bsiness Park. A summary of the costs presented bel ow: YEAR MONTHLY RENTAL AND EXPENSES COST PER SQUARE 1983-84 $2,000 $. 35 1984-85 2,150 .37 1985-86 2,450 .43 In 3une, negotiations for the renewal of the lease ;rere begun with the rea canpany and menbers of the City staff. three year gross lease would best meet the City's need for future financia planning as well as for adequate storage space until the warehouse is huil Phase I1 at the Service and Safety Center. A survey of other warehouse sp the Palmar Airport =ark indicates the costs range frm s.50 sq. ft. to $. ft. for a gross lease. Therefore, the staff is recanmending renewing the present lease for three years.
