RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Accept the construction of the Library Parking Lot, Project No.
3172, as complete. Direct the City Clerk to have the Notice of
Completion recorded. Adopt Resolution No. f7e E authorizing
the. requested transfer of funds.
ITEM EXPLANATION:
Construction of the Library Parking Lot has been satisfactorily
completed. The final contract amount of $102,370..10 includes one
Change Order for $31200 (handled administratively in accordance
with Administrative Order No. 7) for the construction of an
adjacent temporary parking facility.
Additional funds in the amount of $11,029.00 are required for
final costs of additional sidewalk, curbs, gutters, soils
testing, and the staff time necessary to design the project and
perform construction management and inspection services.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Funds in the amount of $109,342 are available in the project
account budgeted from the General Capital Construction Fund. A
final appropriation in the amount of $11,029.00 from the
unappropriated balance of the General Capital Construction Fund
account No. 300-941 to the project account is requested to close
this project. Ten percent (10%) retention will be withheld until
35 days after the filing of Notice of Completion. A summary of

project consisting of construction of library parking lot on
which South Coast Asphalt dba Sully Miller Construction Company
was the Contractor, and Seaboard Surety Company was the surety,
was completed.

RESOLUTION NO. 8708
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING THE
TRANSFER OF FUNDS FOR PROJECT NO. 3172 FOR
THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE LIBRARY PARKING LOT
WHEREAS, the construction of the library parking lot is
considered complete; and
WHEREAS, a total of $109,342.00 is available for this
project in the General Capital Construction Fund; and
WHEREAS, the final contract amount of $102,370.10 has
been paid to the contractor less ten percent (10%) retention;
and
WHEREAS, additional funds in the amount of $11,029.00
are required for additional work and staff time associated with
the project;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Carlsbad,
California, as follows:
1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
2. That the transfer of $11,029.00 from the
unappropriated balance in the General Capital Construction Fund
Account No. 300-941 to the Library Parking Lot Account No. 300-
820-1810-3172 is hereby authorized and approved.
