RECOMMENDED ACTION:
City Council adopt Resolution No. R70"/ accepting the $500
donation from RecyCal of San Diego to assist the Parks and Recre
Department efforts with beach maintenance.
ITEM EXPLANATION:
Last summer, RecyCal of southern California, a non-profit, envir
ment organization sponsored by California's soft drink, beer, packaging, retail, fast food and recycling industries, sponsorec
innovative and extremely successful beach clean up program.
Called the "RecyCal Beach Patrol", this program provided nearly
$200,000 in donations to government agencies and non-profit orgi
zations to hire young people to clean up litter from beaches thl
out southern California.
The RecyCal of San Diego Organization has offered the City of
Carlsbad a $500 donation to assist with beach maintenance. Thi
program will provide funding to employ one (1) summer youth for beach clean up.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The $500 donation will be deposited in the part time salaries f
Park Operations account number 001-820-4121-1300.

RESOLUTION NO. 8704
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING A DONATION
OF FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($500)
WHEREAS, RecyCal donated five hundred dollars ($500)
for the beach clean up program provided by the Parks Divisj
and
WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to accept this gift;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
City of Carlsbad as follows:
1. That the City Council accepts the donation of fivt
hundred dollars ($500) on behalf of the citizens of the Ci
Carlsbad.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of
City Council of the City of Carlsbad held on the 2znd day
July, 1986, by the following vote to wit:
