RECOMMENDED ACTION: No action is required. ITEM EXPLANATION: State law requires that the City Treasurer report to the City Council on a monthly basis the status of the City's investment portfolio. This report is presented to Council each month reporting on investments held on the first day of the month. In summary, the City's investment portfolio as of JULY 1, 1986 is as follows: Principal Amount CERTIFICATES OF DEPOSIT FEDERAL GOV'T NOTES OR BONDS FEDERAL AGENCY NOTES OR BONDS LOCAL AGENCY INVESTMENT FUNDS 14,332,000 OTHER INVESTMENTS $ 358,651 $54 , 237 , 504 $30,657 , 000 1 3 , 040,880 5,877,088' TOTAL PORTFOLIO These investments have been made in Average Interest Average Rate Term 8.24% 305 7.77% 856 1268 8.07% -- 8.40% -- 6.4% -- 8.22% accordance with the City's investment policy adopted January 2, 1985, and revised September 10, 1985. FISCAL IMPACT: When held to maturity, the above investments will yield $ 5,668,453 in interest revenue. EXHIBITS: Detail listing of investments as of JULY 1, 1986. 'Current Market Val ue = $3 , 133 , 114 2Current Market Value = $6,048,926 of which $176,176 represents accrued interest to July 1, 1986. NOTE: Seapointe Savings & Loan was taken over by the FSLIC on or about May 30, 1986. The City's $100,000 principal investment, which matured June 11, 1986, has been returned in full.
