In 1985 the Carlsbad Bobby Sox team won their division
play-offs and was invited to compete in the Southern
California play-offs in Buena Park. The City Council
donated $500.00 to help them with their expenses.

In 1986 the "American Girls" team, which is a senior
division of Bobby -Sox, has again won and is invited to
Southern California play-offs in Buena Park, starting
August 16, 1986. The girls are raising money themselves
but again request City help of $500.00.

Dear City Counci 1 Members;
On behalf of the Board, managers, coaches, players and families of
Carlsbad Bobby Sox, I want to thank you for your support of this year's
team which will be representing the City of Carlsbad in the Bibby Sox
Tournament of Champions. Carlsbad's team is one of only 24 district
champions to have qualified for this year's national championship. Since
we are a low -fee volunteer organization, help with the cost of
transporting, housing, and feeding the girls is tremendously appreciated.
