RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Adopt Resolution No. f7'7·f, awarding bids for various trucks.
ITEM·EXPLANATION
The 1986-87 Budget includes funds for the purchase of ten trucks; one for
Police, three for Utilities ard six for the Engineering Departments.
In accordance with Sect ion 3 .28. 120 of the Carlsbad Municipal Code, Notice to
Bidders was published and Request for Bids was made to twenty-seven vendors.
Eleven responses were received, opened, witnessed and recorded on August 13,
1986. The lowest responsive bid was fran Security Chevrolet, 1100 East Vista
Way, Vista, CA 92084 in the amount of $83,778, plus tax, for a total of
$88,804.68.
FISCAL·IMPACT ----
Unencurrbered fmds are available in the following amounts:
$46,700 in Account Nurrber 001-820-2160..3900 for the Police vehicle cos ting a
total of $8,223.48.
$103,357 in Account Nurrber 620-820-5220-3900 for Utilities vehicles
cos ting $26,315.56.
$21,500 in Account Nurrber 501-820-6310-3900 for the Water vehicle costing
$8,590.24.
$55,250 in Account Nurrber 001-820-3120-3900 for the Engineering vehicles
costing $45,675.40.

92084, for Items 111, /12 and 113, as shown .ln Exhibit A, is hel'eby accepted and
the City Manager is hereby authorized to execute a Purchase Order in the ~unt
of $83,778.00, plus tax, for a total of $88,804.68.
