HD.& CITY ATTYm SUMMARY VACATION OF A PORTION OF CHRISTIANSEN WAY Adopt Resolution No. pf'o3 to summarily vacate a portion of Christiansen Way. DEPT. ENG ITEM EXPLANATION A request was made by Brian Smith Engineers on behalf of Sea Horse Investments to vacate a ten (IO') foot portion of Christiansen Way just east of Carlsbad Boulevard. Christiansen Way, formerly Cedar Way, was originally dedicated as an eighty (80') foot right-of-way in the late 1800's. Present City Standards require only sixty (60') feet of right-of- way to accommodate a local public street. c ITY M G R. w- The City has no current or proposed plans to utilize the excess portion of the right-of-way for parking or any other public purpose. Sea Horse Investments received City approval for a commercial project (Redevelopment Permit No. 85-19) which is conditioned to obtain the vacation of the property to provide adequate setback from a proposed underground parking structure.
