RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Introduce
the intersection of Corintia Street and El Fuerte Street.

ITEM EXPLANATION
At the September 8, 1986 Traffic Safety Commission meeting this item was
discussed. It was the unanimous recommendation of the Commission to
install stop signs on El Fuerte Street at the Corintia Street intersection.
Corintia Street has a stop sign at its intersection with El Fuerte Street
as a result of the City Council designating El Fuerte Street a "Through
Street," which requires all streets intersecting El Fuerte Street to stop.
The Traffic Safety Coordinating Committee recommended to the Commission
that no stop signs be installed on El Fuerte Street at the Corintia Street
intersection. This recommendation was due to the intersection not meeting
stop sign warrants, i.e., very low traffic volumes and no accidents having
occurred at the intersection since 1977.
FISCAL IMPACT
Installation of two (2) stop signs will cost $210.00.

ORDINANCE NO. 3205 -
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING TITLE IO, CHAPTER
10.28 OF THE CARLSBAD MUNICIPAL CODE BY THE
ADDITION OF SECTION 10.28.380 REQUIRING STOPS ON
EL FUERTE STREET AT CORINTIA STREET.
The City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California, hereby ordains as
f 0 llows :
SECTION 1: That Title 10, Chapter 10.28 of the Carlsbad Municipal Code
is amended by the addition of Section 10.28.380 to read as follows:
"10.28.380 Corintia Street Drivers shall stop where the following
described street intersects Corintia Street:
El Fuerte Street."
I EFFECTIVE DATE: This ordinance shall be effective thirty (30) days ,
after its adoption and the City Clerk of the City of Carlsbad shall certify to
the adoption of this ordinance and cause it to be published at least once in 1
the Carlsbad Journal within fifteen days after its adoption.
INTRODUCED AND FIRST READ at a regular meeting of said City Council held
on the 7th day Of OctobPr , 1986, and thereafter
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Carlsbad City
Council held on the 14th day of Octw , 1986 by the following vote, to
wit:
