RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Adopt Resolution No. ?#?J accepting bids and awarding Contract
No. 3140 for the construction of street improvements to Holiday
Park/Eureka Place.
ITEM EXPLANATION:
On August 26, 1986, the City Council authorized the advertisement
for bids for the construction of street improvements to Holiday
Park/Eureka Place . Five (5) sealed bids were received on
October 1, 1986, as follows:
1. William Kirchnavy Construction 2. T. B. Penick and Sons
3. ABC Construction
4. South Coast Asphalt/Sully Miller
5. L. R. Hubbard

The Engineer's estimate for the construction portion of this
project is $338,221.70. References have been verified on the low
bidder and staff recommends the award of this contract to William
Kirchnavy Construct ion.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING BIDS AND
AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF CONTRACT NO. 3140
FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF STREET IMPROVEMENTS TO
HOLIDAY PARK/EUREKA PLACE
WHEREAS, bids have been received by the City of Carlsbad
for the construction of street improvements to Holiday Park/
Eureka Place, Contract No. 3140; and
WHEREAS, the low bid received for the construction of said
project was submitted by William Kirchnavy Construction, in the
amount of $296,546.40; and
WHEREAS, funds are available in the Holiday Park/Eureka
Place project account No. 330-820-1821-3140 for this project;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Carlsbad, California, as follows:
1. That the above recitations are true and correct.

2. That the bid of $296,546.40 by William Kirchnavy
Construction for Contract No, 3140 for construction of street
improvements to Holiday Park/Eureka Place is hereby accepted,
and the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to execute a
contract thereafter.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the
Carlsbad City Council held on the 28th day of October ,
1986 by the following vote, to wit:
AYES: Council Members Casler, Lewis, Kulchin, Chick and Pettine
NOES: None
