ITEH EXPLANATION
At the October 6, 1986 Traffic Safety Commission, this item was discussed. It was the unanimous recommendation of the Commission to install stop signs
on Levante Street at the Nueva Castilla Way intersection. The Commission
stated the stop sign would help control the speed of cars on Levante Street and that the stop sign was needed because of a sight distance
restriction on Levante Street approaching the Nueva Castilla Way
intersection.

The Traffic Safety Coordinating Cumaittee recanmended to the Commission
that no stop signs be installed on Levante Street at the Nueva hstilla Way intersection. This recommendation was based upon the intersection not meeting stop sign warrants.

Installation of two (2) stop signs will cost $210.00.

AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING TITLE 10, CHAPTER
10.28 OF THE CARLSBAD MUNICIPAL CODE BY THE
ADDITION OF SECTION 10.28.390 RE4UIRING STOPS ON
LEVANTE STREET AT NUEVA CASTILLA WAY.
The City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California, hereby ordains as
follows:
SECTION 1: That Title IO, Chapter 10.28 of the Carlsbad Municipal Code
is amended by the addition of Section 10.28.390 to read as follows:
"10.28.390 Nueva Castilla Way. Drivers shall stop where the following
described street intersects Nueva Castilla Way:
Levante Street".
