RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Determine whether Council desires to designate any or all of their members to
file a written argument concerning the Hosp Grove ballot measure; and determine
whether Council desires the City Attorney to prepare an impartial analysis of
the measure.
ITEM EXPLANATION
Section 4015 of the California Elections Code provides that the legislative body
may file a written argument concerning ballot measures. In order to do that,
Council must adopt the appropriate resolution designating which members are
authorized to file that argument. Those names will then appear with the
argument when printed in the sample ballot.
If Council desires to designate any or all of their members to file a written
attached, needs to be adopted with instructions on which names to be inserted in

Section 5011 of the California Elections Code provides that legislative body may
