Laguna, Project Nos. 3210 and 3211, as complete. Direct the City
Clerk to file the Notice of Completion. Authorize the Director
of Finance to close the project accounts upon final payment of
all costs and claims.
ITEM EXPLANATION:
Construction of the traffic signals at the intersections of
Jefferson and Laguna and Jefferson and Las Flores have been
satisfactorily completed. The final contract amount was $100,769
with no change orders.
FISCAL IMPACT:
City funds in the amount of $140,000 were budgeted for the two
(2) projects in the 1985-86 Capital Improvement Program budget.
Installation of both traffic signal systems was combined under
one contract to take advantage of similar design, proximity of
location, and competitive bid economy. Additionally, funds in
the amount of $35,000 were received as a condition of an adjacent
developer, the Income Property Group, for the Jefferson and
Laguna traffic signal. Under the terms of its agreement, the
Income Property Group will be reimbursed one-half of the
remaining funds due, if any, after the final project accounting
is completed for the Jefferson and Laguna signal. A preliminary
estimate of the value of reimbursement to the Income Property
Group is approximately $6,000 subject to accounting for all final
project costs. A summary of the combined project funding is as

the Engineering project consisting of construction of the traffic

on which MCR .Electrical Contractors, Inc.
was the Contractor, and Merchants Bonding Company
was the surety, was completed.
