CITY A CITY w fr 0 IJJ >. 0 E 8. 2 .. z 0 F 0 $ z 3 0 0 a 01 C1-F CARLSBAD - AGEN-ILL RECOMMENDED ACTION: If Council concurs, your action is to adopt Resolution No. mS<, accepting donations for Santa Fe Depot Rehabilitation as follows: AMOUNT SOURCE $3,500.00 Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce 2,254.93 Community - Fund-raiser 300.00 Carlsbad Police Officers Assoc. $6,054.93 TOTAL ITEM EXPLANATION The City has received a grant of $35,000 from the State Office of Historic Preservation to rehabilitate the Santa Fe Depot. match of funds. The Chamber of Commerce has contributed the $3,500.00 matching fun.ds. In addition, the Community held a l1Sock-Hopf1 Dance that raised $2,254.93 and the Carlsbad Police Officers Association donated $300.00 for the depot rehabilitation. The Council needs to adopt Resolution No. 89KS-accepting the donation of funds for Santa Fe Depot Rehabilitation and authorizing the Finance Director to appropriate funds. Architectural drawings for rehabilitation of the depot are currently being prepared. Council will be asked to authorize advertising for construction. A list of successful projects is encl osed. This project is one of the 33 successful applications to which the second-ye allocation of $3 million was distributed. In order for the available funds be disbursed as widely and as equitably as possible, most grant awards were for less than the amounts requested. If you will require further funds to complete your project, you may apply fo consideration under the third year ($3 million) of program funding. application deadline is October 1, 1986. All applications will be ranked competitively statewide with others received. We encourage you to continue seeking support from additional funding sources for the remaining work. The enclosed Acceptance of Allocation form must be signed by the person authorized in your resolution to sign documents for this project and returne to the Office of Historic Preservation as soon as possible.
