No formal Council action is required at this time. ITEM EXPLANATION; Staff has been requested to make a formal presentation concerning the status of the City's Capital Improvement Program. In the 1986-87 fiscal budget, the City Council appropriated $21,000,000 for twenty-seven (27) different capital improvement projects. Subsequently, the City Council has added and funded two (2) additional capital improvement projects: traffic signal system installations at Elm and Monroe and Alga and Corintia. A third project funded entirely by reimbursement from the County of San Diego for the installation of the Rancho Santa Fe Road Truck bypass project has also been added. The attached project status summary (Exhibit 1) of fiscal 1986-87 projects summarizes their current standing by budget amount, funding source, and design and construction status. Also attached is a project status summary (Exhibit 2) of the City's total Capital Improvement Program of eighty-three (83) active projects, including all prior year projects, valued at over $60,000,000 from all funding sources. Staff will detail the projects and budget status in its presentation. FISCAL IMPACT; All funding for existing Capital Improvement Projects has been previously appropriated by the City Council. No additional action with respect to project funding is required at this time. Staff is in the process of assembling the proposed Capital Improvement Program budget for fiscal 1987-88 including reviewing and updating project limits and estimates for the existing five- year CIP. The City Council will receive this document in April along with the 1987-88 proposed operating budget. EXHIBITS; 1. Fiscal 1986-87 Capital Improvement Program project status report. 2.
