RECOMMENDED ACTION:
By minute action, approve the refund of $3,616.31 to
California State Library.
ITEM EXPLANATION:
The Finance Department staff has completed a review of the
City's state grants, and has found that there is an amount
due to the California State Library of $3,616.31 for the
1984-85 Literacy Grant. The granting agency requires that
all unexpended, unencumbered grant money be returned at
year end. The refund represents the amount leftover at
the close of 1984-85.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This action closes the 1984-85 Literacy Grant fund and
returns the money to the California State Library. The
Adult Learning (Literacy) Program is funded entirely by
the California State Library Grant. City funds are not
affected.
