CA I RECOMMENDED ACTION: That Council adopt Resolution No. 90q9 Immigration Study Task Force. extending the ITEM EXPLANATION At your meeting of April 21, 1987, Council directed the City Attorney to prepare documents to reconvene the task force to develop specific recommendations for Council. That document is attached. EXHIBIT Resolution No. 4ou - 1 RESOLUTION NO. 9049 2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA EXTENDING THE IMMIGRATION 3 STUDY TASK FORCE FOR SIX MONTHS. 4 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Carlsbad, 5 California accepted the Immigration Study Task Force report on 6 April 22, 1987; and 7 WHEREAS, the City Council requested that the 8 Immigration Study Task Force reconvene in six months to develop 9 specific recommendations, 6 18 19 20 21 22 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California as follows: 1. That the above recitations are true and correct. 2. That parabraph 5 of Resolution No. 8941 is modified so that the Immigration Study Task Force is extended for an additional six months in order to gather additional facts and information and submit a supplemental report to the City Council . at which time said Task Force shall be dissolved. 3. All other terms and conditions of Resolution No. 8941 shall remain in full force and effect until that time. PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Carlsbad City Council held on the 5th day of May 1987 by the following vote, to wit: 23ll AYES: Council Members Lewis, Kulchin, Pettine, Mamaux and Larson NOES: None I 25 I ABSENT: None 26 27 Cl?AUDE A.
