Staff recommends the Council adopt Resolution No. 2o t:./ , awarding
the bid for gymnasium equipment.
ITEM EXPLANATION:
The 1986-87 Budget includes funds in the Parks and Recreation
Department Capital Outlay Account for the purchase of gymnasium
equipment for use in the new Stagecoach Park facility.
In accordance with Section 3.28.120 of the Municipal Code, Notice
to Bidders was published and Request For Bids was made to fifteen
vendors. Six responses were received, opened, witnessed and
recorded on April 17, 1987. The lowest responsive bid for Items
U through #12 was submitted by Universal Gym Equipment, 1700
East Garry, #101, Santa Ana, CA 92705, in the amount of $17,098.23.
The lowest responsive bid for Items# 13,14,15,16, and 17 was
submitted by Hanson Associates, P.O. Box 2231, Orange, CA 92669,
in the amount of $4,117.00.
The lowest responsive bid for Items# 18,19, and 20 was submitted
by Conlin Bros., Inc., P.O. Box 471, Whittier, CA 90608, in the
amount of $4,956.76.
The lowest resp9nsive bid for Item# 21 was submitted by M. Putter-
man and Company, 4834 South Oakley, Chicago, IL 60609, in the
amount of $3,339.00.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The total cost of the gymnasium equipment is $28,510.99. Un-
encumbered funds in the amount of $41,337.28 are available in
Account Number 001-820-4131-3900 for the purchase of gymnasium
equipment.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING
BIDS AND AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF
PURCHASE ORDERS FOR GYMNASIUM EQUIPMENT
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad,
California, as follows:
1. That the bid of Universal Gym Equipment, 1700 East
Garry, #101, Santa Ana, CA 92705, for Items# 1 through 12 as
as shown on Exhibit "A", is accepted and the Purchasing Officer
is hereby authorized to execute a Purchase Order for the purchase
of parallel bars, balance bars, transporter, and various boards
in the amount of $17,098.23 including tax.

That the bid of Hanson Associates, P.O. Box 2231,
92669, for Items# 13,14,15,16 and 17 as shown on
Exhibit "A", is hereby accepted and the Purchasing Officer is
hereby authorized to execute a Purchase Order for the purchase
of volleyball equipment in the amount of $4,117.00 including tax.
3. That the bid of Conlin Bros., Inc., P.O. Box 471,
Whittier, CA 90608, for Items# 18,19, and 20 as shown on
18 Exhibit "A", is hereby accepted and the Purchasing Officer is hereby

authorized to execute a Purchase Order for the purchase of landing
and all-purpose mats in the amount of $3,956.76 including tax.
4. That the bid of M. Putterman and Company, 4834 South
Oakley, Chicago, IL 60609, for Item# 21 as shown on Exhibit "A",
23 is hereby accepted, and the Purchasing Officer is hereby authorized
24 to execute a Purchase Order for the purchase of portable floor
25 covering in the amount of $4,449.00 including tax.
