RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Staff recommends the Council adopt Resolution No. 9o 9, ,
awarding the bid for radio maintenance to Motorola Communications
and Electronics Inc.
ITEM EXPLANATION:
The City of Carlsbad ;1as radio equipment in the Police,
Fire, Building, Engineering, Municipal Projects, Parks,
and Utility Maintenance Department3. Each Department in-
cludes the cost of the radio maintenance in their operating
budget.
In accordance with Section 3.28.120 of the Municipal Code,
Notice to Bidders was published and Request for Bids was
made to seven vendors. Three responses were received, opened,
witnessed, and recorded on May 13, 1987. The lowest responsive
bid was Motorola Communications and Electronics Inc., 9980
C~rroll Canyon Road, San Diego, CA 92131, in the amount of
$29,848.80.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Although Council has not adopted the 1987-88 operating budget,
the radio maintenance contract must be awarded now for the
City to have continuous service. The present contract expires
June 30, 1987. It is anticipated that funds in the amount of
$34,000 will be in the various departments Communication
Equipment Maintenance Account.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING
A BID AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF AN
AGREEMENT FOR RADIO MAINTENANCE.
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City
of Carlsbad, California, as follows:
1. That the bid of Motorola Communications and
Electronics Inc., 9980 Carroll Canyon Road, San Diego,
CA 92131, is hereby accepted and the Purchasing Officer
is hereby authorized to execute an agreement for radio
maintenance for thirty-six months, beginning July 1, 1987,
for an annual cost of $29,848.80.
PASSED, APPROVED, AND ADOPTED by the City Council of
the City of Carlsbad, California, ~ta regular meeting
held on the __ 2=n=d __ Day of __ J=u=n=e _____ , 1987, by the
following vote, to wit:
