RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Introduce Ordinance No. -XZ-/A amending the City of
Carlsbad Municipal Code by deletion of Paseo Del Norte
as a truck route for a distance 1,150 feet southerly of
Palomar Airport Road.
ITEM EXPLANATION
The Traffic Safety Commission at their June 1, 1987
meeting recommended by a 3-0 vote to delete Paseo Del
Norte as a truck route for a distance of 1,156 feet
southerly of Palomar Airport Road. Several months ago
truck parking at Denny's Restaurant was eliminated due
to a loss of lease. Through truck traffic now has no
reason to use Paseo Del Norte, which is not a designated
truck route beginning 1,150 feet southerly of Palomar
Airport Road. Trucks having business destinations on
Paseo Del Norte will continue to be able to use Paseo
Del Norte to reach their final destination.
FISCAL IMPACT
One (1) "NOT A TRUCK ROUTE" sign will cost $88.00.

AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING TITLE 10, CHAPTER
10.32, SECTION 10.32.091 OF THE CARLSBAD MUNICIPAL
CODE BY THE DELETION OF SUBSECTION (h) DESIGNATING
PASEO DEL NORTE AS A TRUCK ROUTE
The City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California,
hereby ordains as follows:
SECTION 1: That Title 10, Chapter 10.32, Section 10.32.091
of the Carlsbad Municipal Code is amended by the deletion of
Subsection (h) as follows:
"(h) Paseo del Norte from Palomar Airport Road Southerly
1150 feet. 1'
EFFECTIVE DATE: This ordinance shall be effective thirty
days (30) after its adoption, and the City Clerk shall certify to
the adoption of this ordinance and cause it to be published at
least once in the Carlsbad Journal within fifteen (15) days after
its adoption.
INTRODUCED AND FIRST READ at a regular meeting of the City
Council of the City of Carlsbad held on the 23rd day of June
1987, and thereafter
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the
Carlsbad City Council held on the 7th day of July 1987
by the following vote, to wit:
AYES: Council Members Lewis, Kulchin, Pettine, Mamaux and Larson
NOES: None }
