ITEM EXPLANATION
In November, 1979, Council took action amending Municipal Code Section 2.40.010 establishing a Housing and Redevelopment Advisory Committee for the City of Carlsbad pursuant to Section 34120.5 of the California Health and Safety Code. Functions of the committee are to advise and make recommendations to the Housing and Redevelopment Commission or the City Council as either body may request on matters relating to the operation and activities of the Commission.
The terms of appointment of three members of the Committee
expire August 1987. John McCoy, Robert Nielsen and Claude Helton. The members whose terms expire are:
All three committee members have expressed their desire to be reappointed. In addition, the City Clerk’s office has received two applications for the appointment to the Housing and Redevelopment Advisory Committee during calendar year
1987.
The attached organizational chart shows the entire membership of the committee and the respective categories of the individuals.
Membership categories of the three individuals whose term
expire are as follow:
Members are appointed for two year terms.
John McCoy - Business in Redevelopment Area Claude Helton - Business in Redevelopment Area Robert Nielsen - Members of Organizations
FISCAL IMPACT
Members of the Housing and Redevelopment Advisory Committee serve without compensation, therefore, there is no fiscal impact to the City.
