Council CITY I RECOMMENDED ACTION: ~- Review the list of suggestions to improve the effectivenes commissions in Carlsbad and direct staff to take the appropr actions. ITEM EXPLANATION: On August 18, 1987 , the City Council endorsed a program whe Council Member Larson would host a meeting of the chairperson all standing citizen commissions and Committees to develop i on how to improve the effectiveness of commissions in Carlsba Council Member Larson held khat meeting on September 24, 1 In general, the chairpersons in attendance had no m complaints. The suggestions which were generated at this mee primarily seek to refine the current system. One of the most frequently voiced suggestions was for the Cou to make known its expectations of commissions and pro commissions with the City's broad goals and specific policies Attached for your review is a list of citizen commissions committees and their purposes as summarized from their respec establishing resolutions, ordinances and municipal codes.
