RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Staff recommends the Council adopt Resolution No .. 'ftf:-L/~ , awarding the bids for
various trucks.
ITEM EXPLANATION
The 1987-88 Budget includes funds in the Mechanical Maintenance and the Parks and
Recreation Capital Outlay Accounts for the purchase of various trucks.
In accordance with Section 3.28.120 of the Municipal Code, Notice to Bidders was
published and Request for Bids was made of thirty-four vendors. Fourteen responses
were received, opened, witnessed and recorded on January 28, 1988. The lowest
responsive bid for Item #1 was submitted by Pearson Ford, 4300 El Cajon Boulevard,
San Diego, CA 92105, in the amount of $10,487.00 plus tax.
The lowest responsive bid for Item #2 was submitted by De Anza Chevrolet, 8200 Auto
Drive, Riverside, CA 92504, in the amount of $14,491.00 plus tax.
The lowest responsive bid for Item #3 was submitted by Allen GMC, 28332 Camino
Capistrano, Laguna Niguel, CA 92667, in the amount of $9,000.00 plus tax.
The lowest responsive bid for Item #4 was ,submitted by Encinitas Ford, P.O. Box 945,
Encinitas, CA 92024, in the amount of $13,275.37 plus tax.
flSCAL IMPACT
The total cost of the vehicles is $50,088.57 including tax. Unencumbered funds in
the amount of $30,426.03 are available in Account Number 001-820-4121-3900 for the
purchase of a new vehicle and unencumbered funds in the amount of $47,514.31 are
available in Account Number 620-820-5220-3900 for the purchase of replacement
vehicles.

RESOLUTION NO. 88-42
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING THE BIDS AND
AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF PURCHASE ORDERS FOR
VARIOUS TRUCKS.
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California, as
follows:
1. That the bid of Pearson Ford, 4300 El Cajon Boulevard, San Diego, CA
92105, for Item #1 as shown on Exhibit "A", is accepted and the Purchasing
Officer is hereby authorized to execute a Purchase Order for the purchase of the
3/4 ton pickup truck in the amount of $10,487.00 plus tax.
2. That the bid of De Anza Chevrolet, 8200 Auto Drive, Riverside, CA
92504, for Item #2 as shown on Exhibit "A", is hereby accepted and the
Purchasing Officer is hereby authorized to execute a Purchase Order for the
purchase of the one ton dump truck in the amount of $14,491.00 plus tax.
3. That the bid of Allen GMC, 28332 Camino Capistrano, Laguna Niguel, CA
92667, for Item #3 as shown on Exhibit "A", is hereby accepted and the Purchase
Officer is hereby authorized to execute a Purchase Order for the purchase of the
extended cab compact pickup in the amount of $9,000.00 plus tax.
19 4. That the bid of Encinitas Ford, P.O. Box 945, Encinitas, CA 92024,
20 for Item #4 as shown in Exhibit "A", is hereby accepted and the Purchasing
21 Officer is hereby authorized to execute a Purchase Order for the purchase of the
22 3/4.ton flatbed dump truck in the amount of $13,275.37 plus tax.
