On May 6, 1988 the City Manager received a letter from Council Member Man regarding the benefits of contracting with the Oceanside Humane Society i animal control services as opposed to the current contract with the Counl
The 1987-88 operating budget includes $50,000 for the Animal Regulation Contract with San Diego County. includes a request for $75,000 for this contract.

It would appear that now would be a good time to review the County's
contract for the collection and care of animals at the Animal Shelter.
The Oceanside Humane Society would be willing to offer a competing
contract.
initiate a study to compare the Humane Society Animal Control Program
with that we are now receiving from the current program.
