ITEM EXPLANATION: In November, 1979, Council took action amending Municipal Code Section 2.40.010 establishing a Housing and Redevelopment Advisory Committee for the City of Carlsbad pursuant to Section 34120.5 of the California Health and Safety Code. make recommendations to the Housing and Redevelopment Commission or the City Council as either body may request on matters relating to the operation and activities of the Commission. Functions of the committee are to advise and The terms of appointment of two committee members were to expire March 1989. Both committee members resigned, leaving two vacancies in the IgHousing Authority Tenant" category of the committee organization make-up. According to the cornmitteels organizational chart (attached) the housing authority tenant members are to be: a) one housing authority tenant senior, b) one housing authority tenant general. The terms of appointment of both members will be for the remaining term of appointment to expire March 1989. The City Clerk's office has received three committee applications for appointment which would meet the criteria for the two current vacancies. The attached organizational chart shows the entire membership of the committee and the respective categories of the individuals. FISCAL IMPACT: Members of the Housing and Redevelopment Advisory Committee serve without compensation, therefore, there is no fiscal impact to the City.
