TITLE- ADOPTION OF INTERIM SALARY PLAN City Council adopt Resolution No. ff4J&'f. ITEM' EXPLANATION : City representatives and representatives of the Carlsbad Police Officers' Association are continuing to meet and confer. Agree- ment has not been reached. If agreement is not reached by the beginning of the Fiscal Year 1988-1989 it is necessary to have an effective salary plan for police. Therefore, it is recommended that the existing salary plan be continued as an interim measure until negotiations are concluded. It is further recommended that the council permit the salary agreement reached before July 31, 1988, to be retroactive to July 1, 1988, for police. FISCAL IMPACT: None. A RES UTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, ADOPTING AN INTERIM SALARY PLAN FOR THE POLICE FOR FISCAL YEAR 1988-1989. WHEREAS, the City Council, through its designated representa- tives, and representatives of the Carlsbad Police Officers' Association are engaged in the process of negotiations regarding salaries for police employees for the 1988-1989 fiscal year; and WHEREAS, negotiations may not be concluded before the start of said fiscal year, and negotiations may continue past that date; and WHEREAS, it is necessary to adopt an interim salary plan for the 1988-1989 fiscal year. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad as follows: 1. That the above recitations are true,and correct. 2. That the compensation plan for police employees for the 1987-1988 fiscal year, as adopted by Resolution No. 9245, is hereby adopted as the interim salary plan for police employees for the 1988-1989 fiscal year. 3. RAUTENKRANZ, City\Clerk ( SEAL 1 2. 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 e 9 1c 11 12 12 14 1: 1E 17 1E 1s 2c 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 RESOLUTION NO. 9245 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, ADOPTING SALARY PLAN FOR EMPLOYEES REPRESENTED BY THE CARLSBAD POL ICE OFFICER’S ASSOCIATION FOR THE 1987-88 FISCAL YEAR WHEREAS, the Council did on April 22, 1986, by Resolution No. 8519 approve the Memorandum of Understanding between Management and representatives of the Carlsbad Police Officers’ Association, which called for certain salary adjustments; and WHEREAS, it is now appropriate in accordance with said resolution for the City Council to implement said adjustments by amending the salary plan. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California, as follows: 1. 2. That the above recitations are true and correct. That the Classification and Salary Range Schedules for Police Safety Personnel for Fiscal Year 1987-88 as set out in Exhibit A, attached hereto and made a part hereof, are hereby adopted. 3. 4. The 6% salary increase will be retroactive to July 1, 1987. That the position of Communications Shift Supervisor shall be granted the 6% salary increase. 5.
