RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Staff recommends the Council adopt Resolution No. fr-0 0 ,awarding
the annual contract for water meters.
ITEK PLANATION:
The City of Carlsbad purchases various sizes of water meters for
domestic, industrial, commercial and agricultural use. In order to
take advantage of purchasing in volume, a bid proposal for annual
usage of water meters was developed and a Request to Bid was sent to
five vendors.
On June 3, 1988, five responses were received, opened, witnessed and
recorded. Following the evaluation of the bids by the staff of the

The annual contract for seven types of meters is estimated to be
$68,193.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Funds in the amount of $133,000 will be available during 1988-89 for
the purchase of water meters.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING
BIDS AND AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF
PURCHASE ORDERS FOR THE PURCHASE OF
VARIOUS SIZES OF WATER METERS
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL of the City of
Carlsbad, California as follows:
1. That the bid of Kent Meters; 903 N. E. Osceola,
Oscala, Florida 32678 for three items as shown on Exhibit "A",
is hereby accepted and the Purchasing Officer is hereby
authorized to execute a Purchase Order for the purchase of water
meters in the amount of $40,868.
2. That the bid of Rockwell International; 1632 Sierra
Madre, Placentia, California 92670 for three items as shown on
Exhibit "A", is hereby accepted and the Purchasing Officer is
hereby authorized to execute a Purchase Order for the purchase
of water meters in the amount of $23,925.
3. That the bid of Neptune Meter; 11725 Willake Street,
Santa Fe Springs, California 90670 for one item as shown on
Exhibit "A", is hereby accepted and the Purchasing Officer is
hereby authorized to execute a Purchase Order for the purchase
of water meters in the amount of $3,400.
