P E R 7/19/88 RECOMMENDED ACTION: Accept Grant Funds of Seven Hundred Dollars ($700.00) from the Southern California Tennis Association. ITEM EXPLANATION: The Recreation Department has received a Seven Hundred Dollar ($700 .OO) Grant from the Southern California Tennis Association to help augment the Youth Tennis Day Camp Program July 25 - 29, 1988. available in cooperation with the United States Tennis Association and UNOCAL to provide seed money grants to deserving Youth Tennis Programs. Funding is made A Letter of Appreciation will be sent on behalf of the Parks and Recreation Commission and City Council. We are asking programs selected to receive funds to rrake every effort to give the Sa, the USTA, and UNOCAL visibility through newspap!=r articles and program literature. Additionally, we encourage you to have your juniors join the USTA and becume active menhers of the SCFA permitting them to participte in sanctioned taurnaments and league play.
