AB# qba/ TITLE CITY A MTG. 09/06/88 DEPT.FN6 CITY N RECOMMENDED ACTION: NINTH ANNUAL PEDESTRIAN CONFERENCE, BOULDER, COLORADO Adopt Resolution No. ff-2aYauthorizing one (1) staff member to atter Ninth Annual Pedestrian Conference in Boulder, Colorado, September 21-23, ITEM EXPLANATION: The City Council is asked to approve out-of-state travel for one (1) member from the Traffic Engineering Division to attend the Ninth i Pedestrian Conference. Due to interest in pedestrian issues, Council d the past, authorize a member of the Housing and Redevelopment Ad\ Committee to attend the conference. For this conference, Robert Johnson, Principal Civil Engineer, was se' to present a technical paper explaining the City of Carlsbad Pedestrian i Plan. This conference will also provide a mechanism to interact with national and international representatives attending to discuss pede pl anning activities. FISCAL IMPACT: Total cost is offset by a $200 honoraria being awarded for presentir technical paper. Fun available in the department travel budget. Lodging, meals and airfare is estimated at $250. A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA AUTHORIZING ONE (1) STAFF MEMBER TO TRAVEL TO BOULDER, COLORADO TO ATTEND THE NINTH ANNUAL PEDESTRIAN CONFERENCE, SEPTEMBER 21-23, 1988.
