Adopt Resolution No. &-3b I , approving plans, specifications and contract documents for repair and resurfacing of La Costa
Canyon Park tennis and basketball courts.
ITEM EXPLANATION:
Plans, specifications and contract documen-s have been prepared by staff to resurface the Valley Junior High School tennis courts in conjunction with the previous Council approved 1986 Park Bond Act Project. In addition, documents have also been prepared to repair and resurface the tennis and basketball courts at La Costa Canyon Park.
In order to provide accountability for Grant Funding purposes,
these two projects have been separately identified. However,
for purposes of cost effectiveness and anticipated savings
during the bidding process the two projects will be combined.
FISCAL =ACT:
The pre-bid estimates for each project are as follows:
- Project I1Al1 Valley Junior High School $18,500
- Project frBrl La Costa Canyon Park 9 , 500
TOTAL COST OF IMPROVEMENTS: $28,000
Funds for Project "A" are available from the 1986 State of
California Park Bond Act. Funds to repair and resurface courts at La Costa Canyon Park are available through the Parklands Fund
of 1984 for improvements to La Costa Canyon Park (Roberti-
Z'Berg, account #180-810-81-15-8580).

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD,
CALIFORNIA, APPROVING PLANS, SPECIFICATIONS AND CONTRACT DOCUMENTS
AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY CLERK TO ADVERTISE FOR RESURFACING BIDS
FOR THE VALLEY JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL TENNIS COURTS. PROJECT #86-1-
37032(A).
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Carlsbad has
determined it necessary and in the public interest to resurface
the Valley Junior High School Tennis Courts, as per the 1986 Park
Bond Act; and
WHEREAS, plans, specifications, and contract documents for
the furnishing of all labor, materials, tools, equipment,
transportation, and other expenses necessary or incidental for
said project, Project No. 86-1-37032(A) have been prepared and
are on file in the Parks and Recreation Department of the City of
Carlsbad and are incorporated by reference herein;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Carlsbad, California, as follows:
1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
2. That the plans, specifications, and contract documents
as presented are hereby approved.
3. That the City Clerk of the City of Carlsbad is hereby
authorized and directed to proceed to publish, in accordance with
law, Notice to Contractors inviting bids for the resurfacing of
tennis courts at Valley Junior High School, Project No. 86-1-
37032(A), and in accordance with the specifications hereinabove
referred.
