ITEM EXPIMATION:
'l'he City of qarlsbad purchases various sizes of water m.eters for
domesti'c, industrial, ·commercial and agricul,tural use. In order
to take advantage of purchasing in vol1.µDe, a bid proposal for
annual usage of water meters was developed and a Request to Bid
was sent to four vend~rs.
on Sep~e~r 26, 1988, four ~espons~s were received, opened,
witnessed and reco~ded. Following the evaluation of the bids
by the staff of the Purc~asing an~ Utilities/Maintenance
~part~ents, it is recommended the City enter into an annual
contract for water meters with two ven4ors.
The. ~owes~ respo~sive bid for the 2n meters was submitted by,
Rockwell International, 1632 Sierra Madre, Placentia, CA 92670
in the uount of $38,400 plus tax.
The lowest responsive bid for the 4n tur~ine was sub~i~ted by
Kent Meters, ~nc., 953 N.~. Osceola, Ocala FL 32670, in the
amount of $5,175 plus tax.

Funds in the amount of $58,005.93 are available in Account No.
50~~311-6310-0000 for t~e purchase of water meters.

A.RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD,
CALIFORNIA. ACCEPTING BIDS AND AUTHORI.ZING THE
EXECUTION OF PURCHASE ORDERS FOR THE PURCHASE OF
VARIOUS SIZES OF WATER METERS.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL of the City of
carisbad, California as follows:
1. That the bid of Rockwell International, 1632
sierra Madre, Placentia, CA 92670, for Item #1 as shown on
Exhibit "A" is hereby accepted, and the Purchasing Gfficer is
hereby authorized to execute a Purchase Order for 2" water
meters in the amount of $38,400 plus tax.
2. That the bid of Kent Meters, Inc., 953 N.E.
osceola,·ocala FL 32670, for Item #2 as shown on Exhibit "A"
is hereby accepted and the Purchasing Officer is hereby
authorized to execute a Purchase Order for 4 11 turbines in the
amount of $5,175 plus tax.
