AUTHORIZING THE ACTING ASSIGNMENT OF A BUILDING INSPECTOR I11 TO PRINCIPAL BUILDING INSPECTOR CITY MGR..+
City Council adopt Resolution No. R8-,?$3* , authorizing the acting assignment of a Building Inspector I11 to Principal Building Inspector.
ITEM EXPLANATION
The Municipal Projects Manager requested that a Building Inspector I11 be given the acting assignment of Principal Building Inspector. The Building Inspector I11 has been given the responsibilities of ensuring that the newly approved Senior Citizens Center be built according the City specifications. This inspector will be relieved of the other duties and will concentrate solely on the Senior Center project. Once the Senior Center is completed, the Inspector will return to the Building Inspector I11 classification and assigned his regular duties.
FISCAL IMPACT
The additional cost for the remainder of the fiscal year is approximately $2,065. The funding is available in the Department budget.

RESOLUTION NO. 88-382
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING THE ACTING ASSIGNMENT OF A BUILDING INSPECTOR I11 TO PRINCIPAL BU I LO I NG INSPECTOR.
WHEREAS, the City Manager recommends and the City Council concurs that the
Building Inspector I11 be given an acting assignment to Principal Building
Inspector.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad,
California, as follows:
1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
2. That the City Council authorizes and directs the City Manager to grant
the acting assignment of Principal Building Inspector to the Building Inspector
I11 who will perform the Senior Center inspection duties.
3. That the City Council authorizes and directs the City Manager to adjust
the salary of the Building Inspector 111 to the entry level step of the
Principle Building Inspector salary range. This bi-weekly salary is $1,640 and
should be paid retroactive to July 25, 1988, until the project is complete.
