REPLACEMENT OF LIBRARY WATER COOLING TOWER

RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Adopt Resolution No. 88-4�'L accepting bids and awarding a contract in the
amount of $8,640.00 to Southcoast Heating & Air Conditioning of Oceanside, CA
to replace the main Library water cooling tower.
ITEM EXPLANATION:

On October 25, 1988, the City Council approved corr�ract documents, and
specifications and authorized the City Clerk to advertise for bids for the
Replacement of the Library Water Cooling Tower.
Three (3) sealed bids were received, opened, witnessed and recorded on i
November 7, 1988. The bids were reviewed by the Staffs of the Purchasing and
Utilities and Maintenance Departments. Southcoast Heating and Air
Conditioning was the lowest responsive bidder in the amount of $8,640.00. The
contractor's registration and bonds are in order and references are
satisfactory. Other bidders:
San Marcos Mechanical, Inc. of San Marcos, CA $9,452.00
Air Conditioning Company, Inc. of San Diego, CA $9,676.00
FISCAL IMPACT:
The estimate was $8,400.00 and funds are available in Account j
Number 001-820-4010-2460.

5 WHEREAS, bids have been received by the City of Carlsbad, California, �
6 for the Replacement of the Library Water Cooling Tower; and `
7 WHEREAS, the lowest responsive bid received for the project was submitted
8 by Southcoast Heating & Air Conditioning of Oceanside, California, in the amount
9 of $8,640.00; and
10 WHEREAS, funds are available in account number 001-820-4010-2460 for the
11 project.

12 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
13 Carlsbad, California, as follows:
14 1. The above recitations are true and correct.
15 2. The bid of $8,640.00 by Southcoast Heating and Air Conditioning
15 of Oceanside, California, for the Replacement of Library Water Cooling Tower.,

17 Contract No. U/14-19, is hereby accepted and the Mayor and the City Clerk are k
18 hereby authorized to execute a contract therefore.
