Adopt Resolution No. 89 - % establishing the Georgina Cole Memo] Book Fund.
ITEM EXPLANATION:
Georgina Cole, Carlsbad‘s first City Library Director, passed a\ in December 1988. From 1956 to 1982, Mrs. Cole worked tireless.
provide Carlsbad with outstanding library service. She gave a ( part of her life to this community through her unstinting dedici
to learning and to enhancing the quality of life in Carlsbad.
To honor her, and in memory of her contributions to the library
to the community, the Library Board of Trustees recommends the establishment of the Georgina Cole Memorial Book Fund. Donatio] the fund to purchase books will be recognized by the presence o
book plate in each book signifying the name of the donor and th(
fact that the book was purchased in memory of Georgina Cole.

RESOLUTION NO. 89-43
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, ESTABLISHING THE GEORGINA COLE MEMORIAL BOOK FUND.
WHEREAS, the Library Board of Trustees has recommended
the establishment of the Georgina Cole Memorial Book Fund; a
WHEREAS, the contributions of Georgina Cole to the City
of Carlsbad can be recognized appropriately by the establish
ment of such a memorial fund: and
WHEREAS, the library's book collection will be enriched
and enhanced by the establishment of this memorial book func
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of 1
City of Carlsbad as follows:
1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
2. That the City Council approves the establishment (
the Georgina Cole Memorial Book Fund.

Carlsbad City Council held on the 14th day of February ,
1989, by the following vote, to wit:
