RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Adopt Resolution No. f?-//A, approving plans , specifications and contract documents for the installation of lighting at the Carlsbad High School tennis courts.
ITEM EXPLANATION
Plans, specifications and contract documents have been
prepared by R.J.M. Associates, Inc. and Parks and Recreation
staff to install lighting and landscape improvements at the
Carlsbad High School tennis facility. This project was
previously approved by Council on December 12, 1986, as a
part of the 1986 State Park Bond Act projects. The lighting
of the courts will provide more available hours of participation for tennis enthusiasts. The tennis court lighting project was approved by the Planning Commission 4-2 on February 15, 1989 with the following conditions:
1. C.U.P. to be reviewed by Planning Commission - 1 year
2. Detailed landscape and irrigation plan required.

3. Right of way permit required of contractor for all work
involved.
4. No tournament play after 6:OO p.m. and all lights to be
off at 9:30 p.m.
FISCAL IMPACT
The pre-bid estimate for this project is ninety thousand
($90,000) dollars.
Funding for the lighting and landscape improvements is available through the State of California Park Bond Act in accounts #180-820-32-3312 and #180-820-32-3311.

RESOLUTION NO. 89-112
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING PLANS, SPECIFICATIONS AND CONTRACT DOCUMENTS AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY CLERK TO ADVERTISE FOR LIGHTING INSTALLATION BIDS FOR THE CARLSBAD HIGH SCHOOL TENNIS FACILITY PROJECT # 86-1-37032
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Carlsbad
has determined it necessary and in the public interest to
light the Carlsbad High School tennis courts: and
WHEREAS, plans, specifications, and contract
documents for the furnishing of all labor materials, tools,
equipment, transportation, and other expenses necessary or
incidental for said project, Project No. 86-1-37032 have been
prepared and are on file in the Parks and Recreation
Department of the City of Carlsbad and are incorporated by
reference herein:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council
of the City of Carlsbad, California, as follows:
1. That the above recitations are true and
correct.
2. That the plans, specifications, and contract
documents as presented are hereby approved.
3. That the City Clerk of the City of Carlsbad is
hereby authorized and directed to proceed to publish, in
accordance with law, Notice to Contractors inviting bids for
the installation of lights at the Carlsbad High School tennis
courts, Project No. 86-1-37032 and in accordance with the
specifications herein above referred.
