RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Adopt Resolution No .8%m approving plans and specifications and
authorizing the City Clerk to advertise for bids for the
restriping of La Costa Avenue, Project No. 3319.
ITEM EXPLANATION:
In the 1988-89 Capital Improvement Program budget, the City Council appropriated funds for the installation of a painted median with raised reflectorized pavement markings on La Costa Avenue from El Camino Real westerly to Interstate 5. The new
striping plan will provide a painted median as well as reconfiguration of the travel lanes and bike lanes in this area.
Construction is anticipated to require approximately thirty to forty-five (30-45) calendar days from the date of the issuance of the Notice to Proceed. Staff recommends approval of the project plans and specifications and requests authorization to proceed to bid the improvements.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Funds in the amount of $36,000 were originally appropriated in the 1988-89 Capital Improvement Program budget (Account No. 300-
820-1840-3319) for this project.

OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING PLANS AND
SPECIFICATIONS AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY CLERK TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE LA COSTA AVENUE RESTRIPING IMPROVEMENTS, PROJECT 3
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Carl
California, has determined it necessary, desirable, and i
public interest to construct the La Costa Avenue restr
improvements; and
WHEREAS, plans and specifications for the furnishi
all labor, materials, tools, equipment, transportation and
expenses necessary or incidental for said project, have
prepared and are on file in the Municipal Projects Depar
of the City of Carlsbad.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Carl
