RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Staff recommends cpuncil adopt Resolution No.8'1--/S'$; awarding
the bid for Southern M~gnolia trees and Fern Pine trees to
~eaT~ee Nurseries, Ino., and the bid for Queen Palm trees to
Yasuda Tree Nurs~ry.

The 1?89-go Budge~ includes funds in the Elm Avenue and
Carlsbad Blvd. Streetscape Account for the purchase of
landscape material~
In accordance with Section 3.2a.120 of th~ Municipal Code,
Nqtice to Bidders wa~ published and Request for Bids was made
of eighteen vendors. While nine vendors responde~, o~ly four
vendors submi~ted responsive bids. seaTr~e Nurseries,, Inc.,
24041 Moulton Parkway, Laguna Hills, CA 92653, submitted the
low~st, mo~t responsive bid of $21,624.00 for the sout~ern
Magnolia trees; while Yasu~a Tree Nursery, 5010 "A" Street,
San Diego CA 9~102, submitted the bid of $4,494.00 for the
Queen Palm trees.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The total aniount of the above landscape mate;t"ial is $26,118. oo
and unencumbered funds in the amount of $55, ooo. oo are
ava!lable for lapdsoape material in Account No. a11-s20-1aso~
3288.

RESOLUTION NO. 89-155
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING BIDS
AND AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF PURCHASE
ORDERS FOR LANDSCAPE MATERIAL.
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Carlsbad, California as follows:
1. That the bid of SeaTree Nurseries, Inc., 24041
Moulton Parkway, Laguna Hills CA 92653, is hereby accepted
and the Purchasing Officer is hereby authorized to execute a
Purchase Order for the purchase of Southern Magnolia trees and
Fern Pine trees in the ~mount $21,624.00.
2. That the bid of Yasuda Tree Nursery,. 5010 "A"
Street, San Diego CA 92102, is hereby. accepted and the
Purchasing Officer is hereby ~uthorized to execute a Purchase
Order for the purchase of Queen Palm trees in the amount of
$4,494.00.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the
