ITEM EXPLANATION
i
The Mayor and Council Member Mamaux have reviewed the compensation for
the City Clerk and City Treasurer. Based upon that review and
discussions with the City Clerk and City Treasurer, it is being
recommended that their compensation be increased from $350 per month
to $550 per month.

AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING TITLE 2, CHAPTER
2.08 OF THE CARLSBAD MUNICIPAL CODE BY THE
AMENDMENT OF SECTIONS 2.08.020 AND 2.08.030 TO
INCREASE THE COMPENSATION OF THE CITY TREASURER
AND CITY CLERK `.
The City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California does ordain
as follows:
SECTION 1: That Title 2, Chapter 2.08 of the Carlsbad Municipal
Code is amended by the amendment of Sections 2.08.020 and ?.08.030
read as follows:
"2.08.020 Compensation of City Treasurer. The compensation of
the City Treasurer is fixed at the sum of $550 per month payable
biweekly."
"2.08.030 Compensation of City Clerk. The compensation of the
City Clerk is fixed at the sum of $550 per month payable biweekly/"
EFFECTIVE DATE: This ordinance shall be effective thirty days
after its adoption, and the City Clerk shall certify to the adoption
of this ordinance and cause it to be published at least once in the
Carlsbad Journal within fifteen days after its adoption.
INTRODUCED AND FIRST READ at a regular meeting of the Carlsbad
City Council on the 18th day of July , 1989, and thereafter
PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of said City Council held
on the 25th day of July 1989 by the following vote, to
wit:
AYES: Council Members Lewis, Kulchin, Pettine, Mamaux and Larson
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
