Adopt Resolution No.9 lffl approving plans and specifications and
authorizing the re -advertisement of bids for the construction of
Carlsbad Fire Station No. 6, Project No. 3302.
ITEM EXPLANATION:
On June 20, 1989, the City Council adopted, Resolution No: 88-•187
authorizing the City Clerk to advertise for bids for the
construction of Fire Station No. 6. No bids were received on the
bid opening date of August 11, 1989. Since the bid date, the
Municipal Projects staff has coordinated with the Fire Department
and the Danielson Design Group, the project architect, to make
several minor modifications and clarifications to the plans and
specifications, to make it easier for qualified bidders to
participate in bidding the construction of the project. These
modifications include additional options with regard to the
apparatus building, further clarification of the submittal process,
and additional structural details.
FISCAL IMPACT•
Funds in the amount of $550,000 are available in Account No.
320-820-181-3302, for the design and construction of Fire Station
No. 6. In accordance with the terms and conditions of'the city's
agreement with the La Costa Ranch Company, Fieldstone/La Costa
Associates, the City will be reimbursed for all costs associated
with the project up to a maximum of $250,000.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING PLANS AND
SPECIFICATIONS AND AUTHORIZING THE RE -ADVERTISEMENT
OF BIDS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF TEMPORARY FIRE
STATION NO. 6 _ Yro j ec t 3302
WHEREAS, the City Council has previously authorized the
advertisement for bids for the construction of a temporary Fire
Station on Levante Street; and
WHEREAS, no bids were received on the bid opening date; and
WHEREAS, the plans and specifications for said construction
have been revised and are on file with the City's Municipal
Projects Departmen-c; and
WHEREAS, all documents for the furnishing of all labor,
materials, tools, equipment, transportation, and other expenses
necessary or incidental for said project have been,prepared; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Carlsbad hereby finds
it necessary, desirable and in the public interest to construct a
temporary Fire Station No. 6 on Levante Street.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the
City of Carlsbad, California, as follows:
1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
2. That the plans, specifications, and contract documents as
presented are hereby approved.

3. That the City Clerk of the City of Carlsbad is. herebv
authorized and directed to proceed to publish in accordance with
law, Notice to Contractors inviting bids for the construction of
the plans, specifications, and contract documents hereinabove
referred.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the
Carlsbad City Council held on the 22nd day of August , 1989
by the following vote, to wit:
