PLN RECOMMENDED ACTION: TITLE: PL24"ING COMMISSION GOALS AND WORK PROGRAM FOR 1989-'90 Approve Planning Commission Goals and Work Program for 1989-'90. ITEM EXPLANATION Each year, the Planning Commission and staff hold a day-long workshop to discuss working relationships, processing improvements and to develop the Commission's advance planning goals and work program for the upcoming year. Attached is the work program which was developed at the workshop and formally approved by the Planning Commission at its meeting of July 5, 1989. The items on the work program address issues which have been identified since the last program was prepared. Items are listed in their order of importance. Once the City Council has reviewed and approved the program, the Planning Commission will appoint subcommittees to work with staff on each one of the items. FISCAL IMPACT Staff time will be involved in working on these items. Although the exact amount of staff hours is not known at this time, the Planning Department is presently preparing a staffing analysis model which can be used to determine more accurately the amount of time required to work on items such as this. A consultant will be hired to assist on the implementation recommendations of the North Beach Planning Study. Funds were allocated in this year's approved budget to hire a consultant. ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW Each task of the work program will require separate environmental analysis. EXHIBIT 1. Planning Commission Goals & Work Program - 1989-90 1989 - 90 t Hotth Bo8ch Pl-& .- .. 1. A.
