1988-89 STREETS OVERLAY PROGRAM ATQ. 9726/89 I
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Adopt Resolution No. accepting bids and awarding a contract in the to Daley Corporation of San diego for the 1988-89 Streets overlay Program, Contract No. U/M-26
ITEM EXPLANATION:
On August 1, 1989, the City Council approved the contract documents special provisions and specifications and authorized the City Clerk to advertise for bids for the 1988-
89 Overlay Program. The overlay is to be applied to El Camino Real from Rancho Carlsbad Mobile Home Park to Farraday Drive and Marron Road to Highway 78 (night work), Paseo Del Norte from 100' south of Palomar Airport Road to Camino Del Parque, Chestnut Avenue from Cameo Road to Monroe Street, Ponto Drive from off ramp to north end of Lanakai Mobile Home Park and Laurie Circle from Ann Drive to end.
Three (3) bids were received, opened, witnessed and recorded on September 5, 1989. The bids were reviewed by the staff
of the Purchasing and Utilities and Maintenance Departments.
Daley Corporation of San Diego was the lowest responsive bidder in the amount of $338,275.00. The contractor's
registration and bonds are in order and references are
satisfactory. Other bidder:
Southcoast Asphalt of Carlsbad $340,508.76
R.E. Hazard Contracting Company $370,459.80
of San Diego
FISCAL IMPACT:
The estimate for the work was $360,000.00 and funds are available in Account Number 001-820-5110-2412.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING
BIDS AND AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF
CONTRACT NO. U/M-26 FOR THE 1988-89 STREETS OVERLAY PROGRAM
WHEREAS, bids have been received by the City of
Carlsbad, California, for the 1988-89 Streets Overlay
Program;
WHEREAS, the lowest responsive bid received for the
project was submitted by the Daley Corporation of San Diego,
in the amount of $338,275.00; and
WHEREAS, funds are available in account number 001-
820-5111-2412 for the project.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Carlsbad, California, as follows:
1. The above recitations are true and correct.
2. The bid of $338,275.00 by the Daley Corporation of
San Diego, for the 1988-89 Streets Overlay Program, Contract
No. U/M-26, is hereby accepted and the Mayor and the City
Clerk are hereby authorized to execute a contract therefore.

the 26th day of September , 1989, by the following
